I live in NYC and if you want to visit a fun place that only "peeps in the know" know about, check out Freeman's. http://freemansrestaurant.com/ They don't take reservations, but if you show up when they open (6pm), you'll get in. It's fun b/c it's at the end of this shady alley that looks kinda scary, but as you walk down, you pass this cool, old-timey barbershop, which is so much fun to look at, and then suddenly you see these big, gorgeous Christmas lights and this little pale blue restaurant and that's it. It's super cozy inside with yummy comfort food and it's just a fun experience. Have fun in the Big Apple and Happy Holidays!!
